ONE IDEA:
Feedback is the most effective way to make sure students are learning and getting better.
Here’s a list of seven principles of good feedback practice from a 2006 paper on formative assessment and self-regulated learning.
Good feedback practice:
1. helps clarify what good performance is (goals, criteria, expected standards);
2. facilitates the development of self-assessment (reflection) in learning;
3. delivers high quality information to students about their learning;
4. encourages teacher and peer dialogue around learning;
5. encourages positive motivational beliefs and self-esteem;
6. provides opportunities to close the gap between current and desired performance;
7. provides information to teachers that can be used to help shape the teaching.

So the questions every teacher must ask oneself are:
How often do I provide such feedback to my students?
How often do I ask for such feedback from my students?
How often do I ask my colleagues for such feedback?
ONE LINK:
What are the conditions for delivering effective feedback?
In summary,
Students need to see the feedback they get as useful.
Students also need strategies to implement the feedback they receive.
Feedback should be delivered without a (final) grade.
ONE QUOTE:
“If I had to reduce all the research on feedback into one simple overarching idea, it would be this: feedback should make student think more.”

Thanks for going through this. I hope this was helpful.
